While their roots are in Belgium, our client has built a strong presence across the globe. They operate one of the largest and most technologically advanced fleet of vessels in the world, supported by a broad range of auxiliary equipment.
This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a seasoned international in-house tax team. The successful candidate will join the in-house Transfer Pricing (TP) team (part of the international in-house tax team) and will be involved with the TP aspects of the Group’s projects around the world. TP is of increasing importance in the rapid changing tax environment. Tax jurisdictions are introducing new documentation/disclosure requirements and stricter penalties which makes TP now more relevant than ever.
Your responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation/review and filing of TP Local files in coordination with the local finance teams and local external advisors responsible for the particular jurisdiction;
- Analyzing and reviewing financial, business and economic information received from financial controllers (globally).
- Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of all required legal documentation (e.g. intercompany contracts) to ensure compliance with the TP documentation requirements set by tax jurisdictions around the globe.
- Assisting in TP audits including liaising with the local teams and local advisors, collating the requested information, responding to questions etc.
- Analyzing – together with the statutory accounting department - existing finance processes, formulate recommendations and implement improvements to increase data quality for TP purposes.
- Assisting in the centralization of TP documentation (through a transfer pricing documentation tool).
- Potential future responsibilities for growth could include conducting functional, risk, business, industry, intercompany transactions, and economic analyses for the Group’s global projects to establish or optimize the group's TP policies. Additionally, this role may involve assisting with other TP reporting obligations for the the Group, such as Country-by-Country reporting and the TP Master file.
Your profile:
- University degree in Law, Accounting & Finance or in a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of working experience in a tax advisory role, business advisory or other related field.
- Member of a recognized professional accounting body (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) or legal professional qualification.
- TP experience is considered as a clear advantage. Training on the job and external trainings are available to assist the successful candidate in becoming a TP specialist.
- Experience with any TP documentation tool will be considered as an advantage.
- Dynamic with an ability to work independently, take initiative, solve problems, and make decisions.
- Availability for occasional short-term travel abroad (primarily to our headquarters in Belgium) as needed.
- Solid analytical skills with strong attention to detail to assess and curate large amount of data from multiple sources in order to reveal the bigger picture.
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office).
- Written and verbal fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of another language is an advantage.
